Our founder and CEO has built a career at the forefront of global energy—leading complex portfolios, shaping strategy at scale, and driving high-impact transformations across multinational organisations. His leadership anchors our company’s approach: strategic, analytical, opportunity-focused, and guided by a deep understanding of both the challenges and potential of the energy transition.
Maen is a dynamic and results-driven global executive with over two decades of leadership across the energy, petrochemicals, energy transition, and sustainable technology sectors. His career spans senior roles at Shell, DuPont, and entrepreneurial ventures, where he has built a reputation for shaping strategy, driving high-value deals, and leading multi-billion-dollar growth initiatives worldwide.
Most recently, Maen served as a VP-GM and Business Opportunity Manager within Shell’s Chemicals & Products Global Growth Business, spearheading multibillion USD capital projects. He played a pivotal role in Shell’s Net Zero ambitions, leading strategic partnerships, technology commercialisation, and asset transformation projects.
As the founder of Shelby & Bond and ICECORP, Maen advised major entities delivering strategic studies, managing $1B+ in commodities trades, and leading initiatives in defence, petrochemicals, and sustainable construction.
Prior to that, he held progressive leadership roles at DuPont, expanding business development, licensing, and strategic sourcing across EMEA, achieving revenue growth and launching breakthrough commercial frameworks.
Earlier in his career, Maen contributed to upstream oil and gas development as a Production Technologist with Shell UK, and was involved in high-stakes energy negotiations in unconventionals and led strategy development in the Middle East as a Business Development Advisor. He also served in a diplomatic support capacities in international geopolitical missions.
Maen holds a BEng (Hons) in Materials Sciences & Engineering with Business Management from Imperial College London and is a certified Six Sigma Greenbelt.
